INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED SKILL LEVELS
|
| Intermediate students will recharge by playing in the mud and learning the skills necessary for making forms using the pottery wheel. This will include mastering the process of centering, opening and forming the cylinder. We will also produce bowls and other utilitarian and decorative ware. We will concentrate on triming and footing our work. In addition, we will explore the different kinds of lids and handles.
|
Furthermore, we will also work with advanced handbuilding techniques, utilizing plaster molds and other fabricating methods, including the slab roller.
| |
| The advanced mud-whumper will continue to hone his or her wheel throwing skill levels by learning how to make section pots, thrown and altered work, as well as combining handbuilding techniques with wheel throwing techniques. In addition, glaze exploration will be encouraged through utilizing the test kiln.
